BlackBerry Curve 9220 specs detailed, simulator available

RIM isn't feeling too good lately, but that won't stop it from readying the launch of new devices. And one of the company's upcoming devices is the BlackBerry Curve 9220. As its name suggests, the Curve 9220 is an entry level smartphone. A simulator for it has been released by RIM, which means the handset itself should be officially announced pretty soon. Feature-wise, the 9220 offers a 2.44 inch QVGA display, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GSM / GPRS / EDGE connectivity, 512MB of RAM, 512MB of internal memory, MicroSD card support, and a 2MP rear camera. Those who want the 9220 device simulator can get it here at RIM. According to previous rumors, the BlackBerry Curve 9220 should become available in mid-2102, running Blackberry OS 7.1.

LG Spectrum and BlackBerry Curve 9370 now available from Verizon Wireless

The BlackBerry Curve 9370 and the LG Spectrum are now available from Verizon Wireless. The LG Spectrum was unveiled during the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas last week. It runs Android Gingerbread, has a sharp 4.5-inch True HD IPS display, a dual-core 1.5GHz processor, an 8-megapixel camera capable of recording 1080p video and support for Verizon's 4G LTE network. The Spectrum is priced at $199.99 with a new two-year Verizon contract. Also joining Verizon's smartphone lineup on Thursday is RIM's BlackBerry Curve 9370. The Curve 9370 is the slimmest Curve ever and offers GPS and Wi-Fi support, a 5-megapixel cameras and runs RIM's BlackBerry 7 operating system. The new Curve is priced at $99.99 with a new two-year contract after a $50 mail-in rebate.

Pink BlackBerry Curve 9360 coming to the UK in March

The BlackBerry Curve 9360 has so far been available in the UK in both black and white, but what to do if you love pink? Well, it turns out that you just have to wait a little more. That's because a pink version of the smartphone will become available at Carphone Warehouse in March. Yes, that's a lot of waiting to do if you're impatient, but it's just the way things are. No other details have been made available, but we naturally expect this to come with specs identical to the other Curve 9360s out there. Price-wise, again there's no official word but there's no reason why you shouldn't be able to find the pink handset on the same monthly contracts as the others.

Verizon BlackBerry Curve 9370 available now, $99.99 on contract

The LG Spectrum is not the only new smartpohne released today by Verizon Wireless. The largest US mobile carrier has also launched the BlackBerry Curve 9370. Unlike the Android-based LG Spectrum, the Curve 9370 isn't a high-end device, and doesn't have support for Verizon's 4G LTE network. The new Curve runs BlackBerry OS 7, and features global connectivity (quad-band GSM / GPRS / EDGE), a 2.44 inch touchscreen display with 480 x 360 pixels, NFC, Wi-Fi, GPS, 3.5mm headset jack, 800MHz processor, 5MP rear camera, and a VGA front-facing camera. BlackBerry Curve 9370 Launches at Verizon

BlackBerry phones remain your thing? You would be delighted to know that a new model has just been announced for Verizon Wireless. The BlackBerry Curve 9370 is a budget-friendly RIM device, which was recently introduced at CES 2012. It still has the design form expected from any BlackBerry smartphone: the full QWERTY keyboard, the 2.44-inch display, the candybar mold, and a 5-megapixel camera with flash at the back (highly unlikely to shoot videos, though). It also has Bluetooth, WiFi, a microSD card slot for up to 32GB of expanded memory, and a pre-installed 2GB microSB card This new device supports CDMA radios as well as GSM for people who roam around the world more often. It even has NFC capabilities in anticipation for developments on mobile payment technology. The phone can be upgraded to BlackBerry OS 7.1, the latest in RIM's software department. The BlackBerry Curve 9370 will cost you $99.99 with a two-year contract from Verizon after a $50 mail-in rebate.

Unannounced BlackBerry Curve 9380 headed to Telus

The new BlackBerry Curve 9380 - confirmed by RIM not long ago, albeit without a proper announcement - will be reportedly released by Telus in Canada soon.

According to Mobile Syrup, the Canadian carrier will introduce the new BlackBerry smartphone "this holiday season." There's no word on its price yet, but it shouldn't be a high one (the Curve series includes rather affordable devices).

AT&T announces BlackBerry Bold 9900, Torch 9860 and Curve 9360 pricing, availability

AT&T has officially announced that it would launch three new BlackBerry smartphones this month (all of which were expected to hit the carrier's shelves anyway): the BlackBerry Bold 9900, BlackBerry Torch 9860, and BlackBerry Curve 9360.

Both the Bold 9900 (pictured below) and Torch 9860 will be released by AT&T on November 6, coming with 4G (HSPA+) support, and running the latest BlackBerry 7 OS. The 9900 will cost $199.99 on contract, while the 9860 - AT&T's first full-touch BlackBerry - is going to be available for $99.99 (also on contract).

As for the Curve 9360, this won't support AT&T's HSPA+ network. It's going to cost only $29.99 on contract starting November 20.

All in all, November 6 is going to be a big day for AT&T, as it will launch the two BlackBerries mentioned above, two new Windows Phone Mango handsets (Samsung Focus S and Samsung Focus Flash), and its first two LTE smartphones: the Android-based Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket and the HTC Vivid.

Given not only the popularity of Android, but also the promise of faster data speeds (LTE is true 4G compared to HSPA+), I'm pretty sure the Galaxy S II Skyrocket and the HTC Vivid will steal the show that day.

Samsung Illusion, Casio G'zOne Ravine 2 and BlackBerry Curve 9370 to hit Verizon this month?

Don't rub your eyes. That above pic is no mirage. It's a leaked rebate form heralding the Big Red arrival of an actual Illusion - a 3G Samsung-made one, that is. The form, sent to us by an eagle-eyed tipster, confirms that mysterious Gingerbread phone's imminent November launch, while also outing two other equally un-hyped devices: the BlackBerry Curve 9370 and Casio G'zOne Ravine 2. No official release date could be gleaned from the info at hand, but with a redemption period ranging from the 1st of this month to the 28th, we're fairly certain this triumvirate of mid-range phones will be making a retail debut soon. So, if you need to replace your last battle-weary, ruggedized smartphone or have a hankering for portrait QWERTYs, this fair fall month's mobile refreshes could be just the ticket.

White BlackBerry Curve 9360 coming to Orange UK

Already available in the UK since the end of September in its original black version, the Blackberry Curve 9360 will be released there in white, too.

Orange UK is currently listing the white Curve 9360 as coming soon, saying it will offer it for free on pay monthly plans (but that's not a surprise).

The Curve 9360 runs BlackBerry 7 OS, and features a 2.44 inch display with 480 x 360 pixels, optical trackpad, full QWERTY keyboard, HSDPA, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, 3.5mm headset jack, 5MP rear camera with LED flash, VGA front-facing camera, and an 800MHz processor.

BlackBerry Curve 9350 launched by US Cellular

US Cellular has launched its second RIM smartphone to come with BlackBerry 7 OS (after the Torch 9850): the Curve 9350.

Until November 20, US Cellular is offering the Curve 9350 for free to new customers (on contract, after a $100 mail-in rebate). The smartphone's price on contract without a new activation is $49.99 (also after a $100 mail-in rebate).

The new Curve is available online starting today, and will be in stores, too, starting tomorrow, October 14.

The BlackBerry Curve 9350 (which is the CDMA version of the Curve 9360) features a full QWERTY keyboard,  a 2.44 inch portrait display with 480 x 360 pixels, Wi-Fi, GPS, 3.5mm headset jack, 800MHz processor, and a 5MP rear camera with LED flash.

BlackBerry 9380 and 9790 get officially announced, sort of

RIM has announced the new BlackBerry 9380 and 9790 smartphones. However, this is not your usual announcement, with detailed specs and press images. The announcement comes in the form of a blog post which was addressed towards the developer community, informing them of the new handsets.

There is very little information regarding the two phones available at this time. All that RIM has divulged is that the 9380 will have a full touchscreen interface like the Storm and a 3.2-inch, 480 x 360 resolution display. The 9790 on the other hand will have a 2.44-inch, 480 x 360 resolution display with a full QWERTY keypad. Of course, both the phones will be running the latest BlackBerry OS 7.

BlackBerry has released SDK with built-in simulators for each of these phones. This was actually the main purpose of the blog post. We're guessing the actual announcement will be happening soon enough.

RIM BlackBerry Bold 9790 And Curve 9380 Confirmed

RIM has recently confirmed the availability of the BlackBerry Bold 9790 and Curve 9380. The BlackBerry Bold 9790 features a 2.44-inch (360 x 480) touchscreen display, a 1.2GHz processor, a full QWERTY keyboard and an 8GB of internal memory. The BlackBerry Curve 9380 (Curve Touch) has a 3.2-inch (360 x 480) touchscreen display and an 800MHz processor. Both handsets support NFC and and a 5MP camera with 720p video recording. RIM has also released a simulator for the Bold 9790 and Curve 9380.

RIM confirms new BlackBerry Bold 9790 and Curve 9380

Although they still haven't been properly announced, the BlackBerry Bold 9790 and the BlackBerry Curve 9380 have been recently confirmed by RIM on its developer's blog, where simulators for both devices are now available.

According to the Canadian company, the 9380, which could be launched under the name of BlackBerry Curve Touch, features a 3.2 inch touchscreen display with 360 x 480 pixels. We also know - from previously leaked details - that the 9380 (pictured below) should come with NFC, a 5MP camera with 720p video recording, and an 800 MHz processor.

As for the Bold 9790, this will feature a 2.44 inch touchscreen display with the same 360 x 480 pixels resolution, full QWERTY keyboard, NFC, 5MP camera, 1.2GHz processor, and 8GB of internal memory.

RIM didn't say when the new BlackBerry 9380 and 9790 will be launched, but it should happen before the end of the year. We'll let you know when we have more details on this.

US Cellular Launches BlackBerry Curve 9350

Sprint's LG Marquee, BlackBerry Curve 9350, and Kyocera Duramax now available

Yesterday was a big day for Sprint, as many Sundays are (since the carrier loves to release new handsets on that particular day of the week). Not as big as tomorrow may end up being, but still, three new devices have hit the streets – and Sprint's shelves.

The newly available handsets are the LG Marquee, the BlackBerry Curve 9350, and the Kyocera Duramax. And one of them can already be found heavily discounted at an independent retailer. Read on for more details.

The Kyocera Duramax (seen in the picture above on the left) is a rugged flip phone that comes with support for Sprint's Direct Connect Push-To-Talk service. Suffice to say that its ruggedness is this phone's main feature. Aside from that though, it's also got a 3 MP camera with LED flash and video recording support, a microSD card slot, and a non-slip surface.

The BlackBerry Curve 9350 (in the center of the picture above) is one of the most affordable devices to come out of RIM, and after being delayed at least once it's finally out at Sprint too. The carrier charges $49.99 (after a $50 mail-in rebate) for the Curve 9350, and again a two-year service agreement is required to get this price. If you want to dive into the BlackBerry world but don't want to spend an arm and a leg, get a 9350 from Sprint now.

BlackBerry Curve 9360 now available in the UK, free from £20.50 per month, £329.95 SIM-free

A bit more than a month has passed since its official announcement, and RIM's new BlackBerry Curve 9360 is now available in the UK. The Curve 9360 is one of the most affordable BlackBerry smartphones, and comes in that classic BlackBerry form factor. So it should appeal to those who want to become a part of RIM's messaging world but don't want to spend too much money in doing so.

Carphone Warehouse, probably the UK's leading independent mobile retailer, now has the device in stock. You can get it either with a contract on Orange, O2, Vodafone, or T-Mobile, or even SIM-free and unlocked if that's your cup of tea.

If you don't mind signing a new two-year contract with an operator, the cheapest plan that will net you the handset for free is at Orange and will set you back £20.50 per month. For that amount of cash you'll get 100 minutes, unlimited texts, and 500 MB of data. For the same price you can also get 200 minutes, unlimited texts, and just 100 MB of data. It's your choice.

Sprint will launch the BlackBerry Curve 9350 on October 2

Contrary to previous rumors, Sprint's new BlackBerry Curve 9350 did not become available earlier this month. That said, the carrier has certainly not forgotten about the affordable smartphone running BlackBerry OS 7 and sporting that ‘classic' BlackBerry form factor.

Thanks to a leaked Sprint document (shown below), we now know that the Curve 9350 is set to become available on October 2. That means that if you were waiting to purchase this device, in ten days your wait will be over.

Pricing has remained unchanged. Sprint will still ask $79.99 (after a $50 mail-in rebate) for the Curve 9350. That price is valid only if you sign a new two-year service agreement.

The Curve 9350 is one of the cheapest new BlackBerry smartphones, and as such it should become one of the best selling. So let's hope that the image you see above isn't a hoax and it will launch soon. Although it should be noted that the BlackBerry Curve 9350 can in no way have a “faster touchscreen”, as noted in that document. It's impossible, because the Curve 9350 doesn't have a touchscreen. So we'll assume that the poor choice of words was referring to the trackpad instead.

Anyway, we'll find out soon enough if this was real or not. So stay tuned.

T-Mobile's BlackBerry Curve 9360 available for $79 on September 28th, swanks it up with merlot variant

Attention power users and devotees of physical portrait QWERTYs, RIM's outing yet another member of its Curve family this month. Running the Waterloo-based company's latest BB 7 OS, Magenta's BlackBerry Curve 9360 actually goes up for pre-sale today, but you'll have to count yourself amongst the enterprise set for the early access perks. For the rest of us, the carrier's set a September 28th launch for the standard black version of this 2.4-inch, touchscreen-less handset. But that's not all - perhaps following up on the latest fashion-centric trend, the company's also releasing this mid-range entry in a wine-soaked hue of merlot on October 12th. Regardless of your style preferences, the phone'll be available for a wallet-pleasing $79.99 on a two-year contract (after a $50 rebate). So, were not sure if this was worthy of the 'Apollo' moniker, but at least our in-house Ms. Cleo was right on the money.
