Facebook for BlackBerry 2.0 released

Who doesn't use Facebook on their mobile phone device in this day and age? Pretty much everybody is connected to the world's largest social network, be it on their computer, cellphones or even tablets. While the Facebook experience isn't the same on all devices, Facebook has been working hard to try and make sure that the key features remain consistent across all platforms.

BlackBerry PlayBook users who are long due for an update to the Facebook app are in for a treat today as RIM has officially announced the release of version 2.0. The update brings a lot of new features to the device that has been missing all this time.

Facebook for BlackBerry 2.0 includes Facebook Places (for checking into places and unlocking deals), Facebook Events (for viewing event details, checking the guest list, RSVPing and more), Viewing “Likes” - (see who likes a posts), and Privacy control for status updates.

Also released today is the Facebook for BlackBerry smartphones v2.0 app that adds missing features such as Facebook Chat. Head on over to the BlackBerry App World to download the latest Facebook app for your BlackBerry devices.
